2026 MIMS Automobility

Sep 9, 2026 tedu

In the height of summer, in August, we traveled to Russia to attend the annual premier event of the automotive parts industry.Having concluded our multi-day visit to the Russian International Auto Parts Exhibition, my experiences—ranging from touring exhibition halls and connecting with business partners to exchanging insights on industry trends—have provided me with a more authentic and grounded understanding of the auto parts market in Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). I hereby record this exhibition trip, review the gains, condense the experience, and look forward to the future.

This August 2026 event features two core automotive parts exhibitions held concurrently in Russia: the Moscow InterAutoMechanica Auto Parts Exhibition and the St. Petersburg MIMS Automobility Auto Parts Exhibition. As the largest such events in Russia, Eastern Europe, and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) region, This is the most professional full-chain auto parts exhibition, which brings together nearly 2,000 auto parts upstream and downstream enterprises around the world, with a total exhibition area of more than 73,000 square meters, covering all categories of products such as traditional gasoline car parts, complete vehicle accessories, repair and maintenance equipment, new energy auto parts, vehicle accessories, etc. It attracted over 10,000 professional buyers, distributors, auto repair chain organizations, and supply chain enterprises from Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and more than a dozen neighboring countries to engage in business matching, serving as a core gateway for Chinese auto parts companies to deepen their presence in the Russian and European markets.

With years of deep expertise in the foreign trade sector, the Russian market has consistently been a key focus of our overseas expansion strategy. Unlike previous years when communication was conducted online and coordination was done remotely, this on-site exhibition allowed us to truly get up close and experience the real demands and latest developments in the Russian auto parts market.

The atmosphere of the exhibition is warm and professional, without extravagant marketing gimmicks, but more precise and pragmatic business matching. Large domestic auto parts distributors, offline auto repair store procurement managers, and cross-border trade enterprise teams came one after another. We brought all kinds of auto parts products, with stable quality, high cost-effectiveness advantages, and customized solutions for Russian models, and received a lot of attention and in-depth consultation from customers.

Through our communications with procurement partners across various regions, we have clearly identified three core trends currently shaping the Russian automotive parts market.
First, the demand for localization is strong, and the demand for cost-effective accessories continues to be hot. Russia has a large vehicle fleet, with a stable long-term demand for maintenance and repair services for its aging stock of vehicles. The demand for regular maintenance parts such as chassis parts, engine accessories, braking systems, and body wear-and-tear parts is large, and the repeat purchase rate is high. Customers value product stability and adaptability the most, and they are in urgent need of a reliable long-term supply chain.

Second, the new energy auto parts industry is rapidly rising. As Russia's penetration rate of new energy vehicles continues to rise year over year, inquiries for new energy vehicle powertrain components, onboard charging equipment, and maintenance-related spare parts have surged significantly. This segment has emerged as a hot new track at this year's exhibition and represents a core growth direction for the future auto parts market in both Russia and Europe.

Third, customers prefer long-term and stable strategic cooperation. The current local market increasingly favors reliable, capable Chinese original manufacturers capable of long-term supply, moving away from short-term, fragmented procurement models. Greater emphasis is placed on product quality control, delivery timeliness, and after-sales support. Brand-oriented and standardized supply chain enterprises hold a distinct competitive advantage.

The biggest gain of this exhibition is not only the accumulation of dozens of precise target customers and the finalization of many preliminary cooperation intentions, but more importantly, it is to break out of the fixed cognition and face the market changes at the front line.

Previously, our understanding of the Russian market was limited to data and online communication. However, after participating in on-site exhibitions, we discovered that the Russian and European markets are not merely arenas for low-price competition. Instead, customers' true core demands lie in product quality, compatibility, delivery capability, and customized services. Many buyers have made it clear that they are willing to pay for stable quality and improved service, and refuse low-quality and low-price one-time cooperation, which has also strengthened our original intention to adhere to fine craftsmanship quality, deeply cultivate niche segments, and build long-term foreign trade reputation.

At the same time, through exchanges with industry peers and exhibitors from all over the world, we have also learned about the latest trade rules, logistics systems, and product adaptation standards in the Russian and European markets, filling the information gap and providing practical reference directions for subsequent product optimization, category upgrade, and market layout.

My few days in Russia were busy yet fulfilling; every conversation brought growth, and every coordination deepened my understanding.

The exhibition is over, but the pace of deepening the Russian and European market will not stop. Next, we will follow up with the customers who expressed interest in this exhibition one by one, refine the matching needs, customize the exclusive plan, and implement the details of the cooperation; At the same time, based on the results of this market research, we will optimize our product structure by upgrading popular categories such as new energy vehicle auto parts and accessories compatible with older vehicle models, aligning closely with the actual demands of the Russian market.

Deepen overseas, step by step. The 2026 Russia Auto Parts Exhibition has concluded successfully. We have witnessed the market's potential and clarified our path forward. In the future, we will continue to take root in the Russian and European auto parts market, with reliable products, stable delivery, and thoughtful service, to connect with more overseas high-quality partners, and jointly win the new blue sea of overseas auto parts!

We also look forward to working with more industry colleagues and overseas customers to jointly expand the vast Russian and European auto parts market!
